How we may use cookies
We use essential storage for site operation, security, and remembering your cookie choice. With your consent, we may use analytics storage to understand traffic, popular counties, event guide filters, directory journeys, form completion patterns, and technical issues.
Analytics choices
Analytics and advertising measurement are off by default. You can consent to either purpose separately. With analytics consent, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Amplitude Analytics, Amplitude Session Replay, Google Cloud, and BigQuery may receive limited usage events through our first-party endpoint at metrics.thingstodoinireland.ie. These events can include page views, session replay data, sanitised search terms, filters, result counts, selections, and performance measurements. Common personal details are redacted before collection, and high-risk search text is omitted.
Amplitude Session Replay helps us understand where visitors get stuck by replaying website interactions after analytics consent has been given. It is used for product improvement and technical troubleshooting, not advertising personalisation.
Advertising measurement
Advertising can display without analytics or advertising cookies. With advertising measurement consent, Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API may receive page views, content views, searches, leads, contacts, and checkout starts through browser and server-side events. Events use a random event identifier for deduplication. We do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, free-text form content, or search terms to Meta.
Third-party services
Services such as secure payment tools, Google analytics tools, embedded maps, or media providers may set their own cookies or storage when you interact with their features or consent to analytics. Their cookies are governed by their own policies.
Managing cookies
You can accept, reject, or manage analytics choices from the cookie banner. Your choice is stored with a timestamp and consent version so we can ask again if the analytics policy materially changes. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect forms, payments, analytics preferences, or embedded features.
